We held our second symposium at Eastern College in Philadelphia, PA.  The setting was distinctly rural.  The campus is beautiful, but the summer was brutal that year, and we learned some valuable lessons about comfort in accommodations.  Our experiences that year set up one of our best symposiums ever in 2005 in Atlanta.

Some of the symposium highlights include:

  • The work of Kiddie Corps with the ALGS kids.  They were awesome to work with and did a great job meeting all our needs.
  • The keynote speaker was inspirational (Jay Platt).  He had the room mesmerized with his recount of his life story and his experiences hiking the Appalachian Trail.
  • The celebration dinner down by the pool was a blast.  The energy was super positive and very high for that event.

Eastern College - a beautiful arial shot of the campus layout.  We found out that the buildings were a little too spread out for a symposium.

View of the main dorm at Eastern College.  The use of that dorm made a lasting impression on us.  We decided no more dorms!
